Kevin D. Mist and kMist Design
If you haven't guessed before, I am the 'k' in kMist design. My name is Kevin Mist. I currently make my home in Northern Michigan. I live Northwest of Cadillac, the Meauwataka area to be exact, with my wife, 2 children, and mini-schnauzer Brehna.
My background is almost entirely in Marketing and Sales. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Sales from Ferris State University. For many years I worked and then owned a manufactured housing retail center in Traverse City. This has given me a keen understanding of the local business climate and I know what sells and what doesn't. I can put my sales and marketing skills to work for you and your company given the chance.
Now I make my living doing what I love, which is design. I have always had an attraction to good design. Web design, logo design, and print design are what makes me get up in the cold Norhtern Michigan mornings. I am one of those people that actually watch commercials to see the marketing and branding behind a product. Many times my thought is.. I could do better than that. I guess now is my time to show that to the world.
About kMist Design
kMist Designs is truly a micro business. It is just me. You can't get much smaller and more personalized than that. I work with the latest technology and keep up with the current trends and styles through a huge network of professionals, blogs, newsletters and friends in the industry from around the world. I am an insatiable reader and like to keep up with 'what's hot' while keeping an eye on 'what works' and 'best practices'.
As I mentioned, I am based out of the Cadillac area but am not opposed to traveling to meet you face to face to get all of the information I need to get started on your project.
About Pricing
Pricing is the tough one. Every project that I work on is unique and tough to pigeonhole into a set price. My normal hourly rate is $45.00 per hour. I keep detailed work logs on all projects to ensure that the pricing is fair for both of us. This rate is used for things like tiny projects and web maintenance. I never charge for time spent communicating, faxing, or emailing. All of my projects are bid on a per case basis. All of my quotes are free. So if you are thinking about using me for a project why not let me bid it out for you.
Okay, I know that was very vague and not very satisfying. Below I will get a little more specific. This is a list of price ranges for an average project.
- Logo - $125-350.00 dependant on complexity
- Stationery and business cards - $75-300.00
- Web Design - $125-300.00 per page (plus stock photography)
- Web Development - $450-??? dependant on complexity and pages needed
This will give you an indication of my price ranges. That being said, if you have a specific budget contact me and we can discus your options.
About Billing
I require a 50% deposit to get started on your project. You will be kept informed any time a project might have overages. The best policy is open communication between us. I am fair and expect the same from my clients.
The remainder of the funds will be due upon completion or on a predetermined scheduled basis. Invoices can be mailed or emailed dependant on your preference.
